Environment & Climate Change

In Canada, addressing climate change and protecting the environment are fundamental priorities. Prioritizing sustainability and renewable energy reflects a commitment to social equity, economic growth, and intergenerational well-being. If the LPPC is elected, below are the issues that we will tackle.

01

Investing in Clean Transportation

The Issue:

Different modes of transportation and vehicles are one of the leading causes of carbon emissions in not only our country, but all over the world right now.
Solutions we will put in place:

  • Promote the adoption of electric vehicles. We see them around on the streets so much more, and slowly, but surely they are making a difference in the amount of carbon emissions produced.

  • Invest in infrastructure for charging vehicles, as well as incentives for those who buy electric vehicles like a certain amount of kilometres of free charging as an example.

  • Implement stricter emissions standards for conventional vehicles.

  • Create safer streets with better crosswalks, bike signals, and road conditions to promote public transportation like buses, walking, or even using  a bike.

  • Create more fully electric buses in Canada as they are a great way of transportation and it is way better to have 1 bus for 20 people rather than 20 cars each producing emissions.

02

Energy Efficiency

The Issue:
Businesses often overlook their daily energy consumption, as it is typically funded by the company and doesn’t directly impact their finances. Large corporations and upscale buildings, with lights left on constantly and heating or air conditioning running around the clock, contribute significantly to air pollution and emissions.
Solutions we will put in place:

  • Implement energy efficiency measures in buildings, industries, and transportation to reduce energy consumptions and carbon emissions.

  • Set efficiency standards with fines having to be paid if they are not met.

  • Incentives that some will go straight to the pockets of the employees as it will encourage them to save

  • Provide incentives for using energy-efficient technology, and promoting energy audits as well.

03

Protect and Restore Natural Carbon Sinks

The Issue:

Deforestation, unsustainable land management practices, and certain agricultural methods contribute to carbon emissions and diminish natural carbon sinks.
Solutions we will put in place:

  • Preserve and restore land like forests, wetlands, and other natural ecosystems that act as carbon sinks.

  • Put limits on deforestation and hunting which will save the environment and promote ecosystem growth.
